It’s an upcoming game that I’ve been following the production of called Skullgirls.
It looks fucking amazing.
The art style itself is gorgeous. It’s all hand-drawn and it’s so beautiful.
Fans of animation, fighters, and/or awesome things must check it out. It’s coming to PSN and XBL this summer, and it’s already on my list of Top 10 Most Anticipated Games of 2012!

Boy how I love tearing this game apart. Just did it on his deviantART, though he gets so much traffic I’m not sure if anyone will respond. You should see how they comment on there! :I then again it is deviantART and that place is a wretched cesspit of fuckery so I’m even less surprised than usual.
I’m not sure what the controversy is. This looks like an awesome game.
The originator of the game is a man who goes by the pseudonym “Mike Z”, a very prolific Guilty Gear and BlazBlue player. Like batshit insane grappler player.
Just woke up and decided to create a fighting game I guess. not too sure, I’ve been following this since it was just illustrations posted to the chans.
He’s crazy in the way that he created some unlockable costumes for certain characters that reference awesome anime. For example, Parasoul has a costume which mimics “Kneesocks” from Gainax’s “Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt”. Other charaacters have references to Guilty Gear, Vocaloid and even Touhou. These easter eggs make me a happy pug.
It’s the little things which make this game fucking awesome, like the previously mentioned costumes. Winning by time out mocks the winning player as shown in this video. High frames per second, high frames pre character. Miss Fortune’s character profile and moveset. Character backgrounds. Unique playstyles. Dead characters stay on stage on the ground. 1v3 “boss” battles.
I bet it’ll be balanced too, Mike Z, being a high level player, probably knows good game mechanics and balance. Fingers crossed!
